The year has sped by, with the Holidays fast approaching. Each year nearly 12,500 people nationwide receive injuries related to holiday decorations. We urge you to use caution while placing and using decorations. There are also about 400 fires annually associated with Christmas trees. Kane County has instituted the CodeRED®
Emergency Telephone Notification System. CodeRED®
is an ultra high-speed telephone communications service for emergency
notifications. This system allows local officials to telephone targeted
areas of a municipality or the entire County in case an emergency situation
requires immediate action (such as a boil-water notice, missing child or
evacuation notices) occurs.
